Maybe an update to Steam or Windows or Tekken or something changed the behavior? Or was I indeed crazy? Quite possibly. I checked in Steam's settings and I still had that "Generic Gamepad." option selected. When I tried to use the controller just now, it was back to not working correctly. I have been using a fightbox (like the Hitbox) I made for a while now so I haven't been using my controller for a least a couple months. I keep thinking I'm crazy or something because I swear it was working for me at the time. Hi ChengTriad! I am sorry that didn't work for you. Then only the XInput type controller would show up in Tekken 7's Button Mappings menu, and everything appears to be working as expected now. I finally fixed the issue by changing the "General Controller Settings" in Steam's settings so that the "Generic Gamepad Configuration Support" option was the only one selected. The Bluetooth LE one appeared to be the one that was being used by the game, and it wouldn't let me assign anything to the triggers or even show that the triggers were being pulled. In the "Button Mappings" option of Tekken 7, I would be shown two controllers: an XInput one, and a Bluetooth LE. Initially I had issues where the triggers wouldn't work, or the right stick wouldn't rotate the character in the customization screen, the face buttons would have weird mappings, all sorts of things.
I installed Tekken 7 on PC through Steam and bought an Bluetooth XBox Core Controller. Happy New Year all! Thought I'd post a fix I found for an issue I had in case it helps others.
